    Would a 2009 TXC250 be much of an upgrade over a 2008 TE250? Other than contingency...

    well, you will loose the plate, but also some weight. TXC runs a little stronger than the TE also. For racing or aggressive riding I would go with the TXC, but for everyday type riding I would go TE.

    IMHO the TXC is a good but higher performance than the TE, a noticeable amount. Weight, power, handling, suspension are all better on the TXC.
