Has anyone upgraded to the closed chamber Kayaba SSS 48mm fork found on post 2005 Yamahas . I have a 2014 TE 511 with the older Kayaba open chamber 48mm fork (Found on Yamaha's) that I know would benefit from the Kayaba SSS 48mm fork.

Questions would be if so are there any Wheel fitment issues (caliper, spacers, axel width)

Don't the TXC and TC models use the closed chamber forks ? They would bolt right up with no issues.

I would spend my money on racetech gold valves before attempting a full fork swap. They are apparently make a big difference.

I had ZipTy re-valve mine on my TE and totally transformed them. I also have a set of the closed chamber TC/TXC forks on my 250 that Ty dialed in for my weight and racing needs and they feel very close to being the same. Might give them a call and see what Ty says. He's very familiar with those Yamaha forks too.

I had my suspension done by Shock Therapy and that did make them work better but, having had many Yamaha's I know the SSS Forks offer an even better ride. I will give Ty a call.

Had my 2013 TE449 completely redone by Ty. Last weekend was the first time I hit whoops at speed. Wow, so that is what a bike should be.
