We went last year. Some of the best racing I'd ever seen. That was when we really started to see just how good CWebb is. I mean, we knew he was good, but when they threw him on a 450 and turned him loose again Febvre and Cairoli? Dude.....
CWebb did impress last year. Watching him and Febvre blasting down Mt. St. Helens was worth the price of admission in itself. While watching the Unadilla National yesterday it was announced that Coop will be the team captain of this years MX of Nations team along with team mates Alex Martin and Jason Anderson. I hope Team USA will be at Glen Helen next month to tune up for their assult on the rest of the world in Italy. At any rate, I will be front and center at Glen Helen again this year taking in the full specticle of International Motocross at it's finest...
Nice! I was there yesterday for the open track day. My brother road and I took my kids to watch. Did not make the race on Sat as I had to work
How'd you like it? A friend of mine works for the company that built the track. He was receiving much praise for the layout on FB over the weekend. I loved the left turn coming off the start area - flat trackin'!!!
FYI plug both CWebb and Fevbre are RynoPower Sports Supplements riders....just like me, they copied me.
Its was good for what they had to sork with but IMO not up to MXGP standards.... I'd rather see a real outdoor moto track...
fun day in San Diego, Friend called to ask if I could be a tour guide this afternoon. I thought maybe 1 or 2 guys, it was six guys from the Honda Red Moto MXGP Team all Italian except the one Japanese (Alessandro and Kei are the 2 riders). fun time was had by all. While walking around near the USS Midway museum they ran into Gariboldi the owner of the Gariboldi MXGP Team and then ran into the rest of his crew, Tim Gasjers Mechanic crew. MXGP crews hanging around San Diego today. I guess Im going to the MXGP this weekend after all.
We were not with the World champion HRC Gariboldi Racing crew, I was with the Red Moto Honda crew, they (with me) ran into Gariboldi and his Tech crew ( I would not have known either of them from Adam without the intro). This is the crew I was with, the entire team. http://www.mxgp.com/teams/team-honda-redmoto-assomotor This is who we ran into at the pier next to the Midway Museum the Team owner and his Tech crew no riders. http://www.mxgp.com/teams/honda-gariboldi And don't tell me it didn't happen without pictures. I really don't do that whole picture with the stars crap. But I do have one crappy selfie and one "evidence" pic of the crew looking at the Midway, if I can figure out how to send it off my fone......
Luca T , Mech/tech 1, Team manager Alfredo, Ale Lupino, Kei Yamamoto, Mech/tech 2, Mech/tech 3, wearing their team backpacks. We ran into HRC team boss over at the fantail and his crew on the other side of the ship. We met at the Hotel del Coronado, walked to coronado beach, went through the village to the bayside, to the ferry landing park, looked over to downtown, drove over the bridge to near the midway museum walked to seaport village went to the former sdpd HQ to the jail exhibit then they dropped me in little Italy, to Isola ristorante for happy hour Napoli style pizza to meet my daughter so she could taxi me back to nado. I will see the guys again on saturday and for Temec, I will probably stay and be there on sunday as well. I will let you know where booth will be (yea I'm helping the motoman with his biz layout set up)...wow that all sounds so romantic.......
Here Alfredo intros the team View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MznLTK6-UoE http://www.assomotor.it/ http://www.assomotor.it/
That's Cool to meet those guys! What were they doing in San Diego? Just taking in the sights? Not sure how far Glen Helen is from there. I assume the guys stayed in the states from last weekend and are probably killing time.
About two hours away....depending on how loaded the 15 and 215 Freeways are. There's really nothing out near GH - except for the San Manuel Casino and the dead broke city of San Bernardino. Oh, and a couple of colleges.
They were up at Pro Circuit in Corona where my friend and his wife works, they are Italian and know those guys. He called me up said they were heading down to sightsee. Their drive with zero traffic hour was 1.5 hours . Yes of course they raced the last race then came out west. This SD visit was pure touristic that also goes for the Gariboldi crew as well, the team bikes were not even here yet so it was time to sight see and veer off the race face diet- we all pigged on Ben and Jerrys in seaport village. Also for those that don't remember Lupino was the last full factory Italian Husky MX racer, so of course I asked him about the TC250 X-Lite development. He said the very last version of the factory TC250s was so very close to the other brands finally, they changed the engine to a long stroke 250 , they did even more cyl head experimentation and he said really boosted the power into a more competitive package, he said nice chassis and components. He was disappointed when the whole thing went down in flames. Hmm I wonder where that last model X-X-lite bike went!! Also as he stated he is serving his country in the sports division of the state police, if you are an enduro fan you have seen many of the Italian enduro athletes with Polizia Dello Stato, Carabinieri and other military equivalent agency jerseys and helmets painted up, they are actually doing their time as military service athletes. It seems like a great deal we should do that, instead of doing barracks clean up and other silly stuff when I was Marine I could have been representing the Corps by racing motos....nice. MOS Enduro Racer.
