Great looking pics. Rocks looked a bit gnarley for my taste though. That creek looked really refreshing and as usual, I am wondering if there are fish in the ponds.:D

Ohh...you're killing me...I missed riding in Idaho this summer:banghead:

Is this area near Yankee Fork? We hit that area once and it was stellar!
Bull Trout had some really nice stuff, too. I have a photo of me there somewhere giving the "no quads" sign the thumbs up:thumbsup: Those were great photos. Thanks for posting them. I love the rocks!

    I agree, nice pics.
That's one set of trails around here I don't think I've ever ridden. Had the chance a couple times, but things kept coming up that I couldn't get away.

Welcome to central Idaho (low gearing & good skid plate highly recommended)

I love our rocks so much, I thought about checking to see if that Positive Changes Hypnosis had a sport therapy session to help me.

When I first saw the Las Vegas Endurocross track, I was sure they got their rock section ideas from riding near the Trinity Mtn's.
(where it looks like I'm meeting some guys for a ride this coming weekend)

Yep, Tami, that's part of the Yankee Fork trail system. The west end of it, to be precise. Pull out your Bill Dart map and check it out.
It looks like the fire cleared some parts of the area out pretty well, but it should be wildflower heaven now.
We've got to go back there.

the rocks I can take or leave ... it's the sidehills that scare the crap out of me especially the sidehills with the marble/golfball sized rocks all over them.....

This was my major ride of the year... 36 miles and it was all i could handle... I'm told the Yankee fork and other areas are a handful... My friend Mike took me on the "easy" part... I can't imagine what the hard part would look like :)

High/steep sidehill trails are main reason why my son won't go out on a lot of rides with me. He hates heights and wants almost 4whlr width before he relaxes, so 90% of what riding he does is old 2-track mtn road or desert trails/sandwashes out in the Owhyhees.....kind of a waste of a nice light, agile KDX200. (I'm not allowed to use "his" bike on mtn trails)
(we lead him into some tight stuff once in a while......he gets a bit tense & may not talk to us for a couple minutes, but he rides it just fine)

Attached a pic for you of a ride some of our TVTMA guys went on afew years ago.......can't say I'm sorry I missed this one.

That pic makes scares the crap out of me.... I'm like your son in that respect... I like flowing trails through trees... I don't mind the rocks or root step ups that much....... I also am having lots of fun with switchbacks which arent my favorite.... at least going up...down them I'm a disaster...:)

I wish I could have been there! I love the area around Stanley/Ketchum. Most of my riding is in the Trinities and Danskins (on ATV's, because I don't have my Husky yet). Beautiful country up there!

That place apparently scared the crap out of a couple on ride too. They told one of them couldn't go on and a few of them somehow turned the bike around and got him out.

Little sections of rocks/roots are ok and just part of the ride, but very much of that 1-5mph bouncing thru long nasty section of rock, barely able to crack the throttle open on my 510 just flat wears me out.

That is what makes the rocks, sidehills and tight switchbacks worth while.

Those areas of the trials are known as "HIGH CONSEQUENCES" or #10 on the butt pucker factor! Defiantly no place for a flame-out to throw you off balance.

For the last 4 years, during the last week of Sept. a handful of us go on a 6-9 day outing we call the "Lazy Butt". Last year we rode the Valley Creek/Yankee Fork area. I think the weeks total was around 350 miles with one 100 mile loop. This year the plan is to camp near the base of Galena summit and ride the Boulder White Clouds area which some are attempting to turn into more wilderness.

Here is a ride report from 2007. http://aitonsride.blogspot.com/2007/10/2007-lazy-butt.html
