Has anyone had a dealer do valve check? Any advice...and price for service? Were you happy and did it make a difference in valve noise/running? I am having a dealer perform this in three days. He told me $227 labor plus parts. That price dont sound to bad i think.
I asked my dealer a couple weeks ago for a ballpark estimate and he told me it would be around $600. I told him I'd be putting off the valve check as long as possible. That's a hefty fee for 6000 miles of riding.
It's a fair price IMO. My Te310 was about that. I checked the valves myself but they were all out of spec and I didn't have shims so I took it to Halls cycles. It was under $200 but I had the tank off already.
Cheapest I could find it near me was $600.00 USD. That's just to check it. More if adjustment is needed. I'll do the work myself when it's needed. I'm approaching 12k miles and the bike shows no sign of needing valve adjustment yet.
Well all is good....$247 OTD no ajustment needed. I asked when should i do next one as this one was @14300miles he said bmw single you should be good from here on out...sweet! It took about 4 hrs....this older mech...was his first tr valve check...but this guy was good... watched some of his work. It would have took me days.
Orlando Florida....magic city cylce...mech was (Ron Range) Yes back in St Pete.... Short term...back for holidays/kitesurfing I rode bike in @ 9:30 am telling them days before i have to ride home...i was glad to give them the coin...saved me peace of mind....and a lot of time. Ron was easy to talk to....i only bugged him shortterm so to let him wrench.
Well I'll be damned. I have to travel 5-6 hours each way to get to any of the 4 "closest" Husky dealers, I might have to give them a shot. I never figured I would bring it back down there, but that’s a reasonable price and now they have a guy who knows what to do. Maybe tie it in with a visit to EPCOT or SeaWorld with the family. I assume since they are also a BMW dealer they still have a MOSS tool working as well, right?
