View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_zJp_KJ6NQ The Checkers put on a 85 mile 3 loop Hare and Hound It was won by Nic Burson x Husky racer riding a Beta and 3 over all was also a Beta Anyway it was a great course With loop 1 easy 40 mile loop2 at 25 mile being alittle harder and loop 3 at only 18 miles but with lots of fun rocky single track.I had a great time and still waiting for the results
I can tell after sitting on top of your head for thirty minutes that your 300 is shall we say mucho Peppy. Great stuff Ajax !!!
It is a 2010 WR 300 with 2002 CR 250 electronicts and a stock carb off a 2006 WR 250 FMF pipe and spark arrestor Other then that the motor is bone stock and it really does run well BUT the best part is the Ohliens front and rear it flat works
My 11 is all stock except for the 14 countershaft and EXTENSIVE jetting. I am very happy with the power, yours just seemed to have more down low. And I could tell how plush your suspenders are, I was cringing in my chair and you just floated over that stuff.
Even with the cr electronic and lack of flywheel weight it is next to imposable to STALL I never stalled it once I did shut it off twice on big down hills but then bumped it and off it went you would have to ride it to really understand how well it handles If you notice the guy at the finish line asked me how did my new ohlins work and my answer was YOU RODE IT YOU KNOW to which he said hey i know it is just that good to bad I can not ride it faster You need to come out to the desert for a ride next race march 9/10 weeken HBMC 2 day scrambles in Luceren off Besamire mine road
I'm jealous of your Ohlins. If you put a 38mm Lectron on that bike there wouldn't be a better bike on the planet.
Now you just ruined my day You want to compair this old man to the # 1 desert guy Well if you must know Nic did the 85 miles in 2 hours 16 min I did the same 85 miles in 3 hours 13 min that is why he is # 1 BUT at least I am still out there racing I got 3rd in the over 50 expert and once again I WAS THE ONLY HUSKY that is listed to have finished As for tires I have been running a dunlop MX 51 with a mousse It had done 3 races and a few rides and still looks good
I was just trying to gauge the endurance factor. You have to ENDURE longer. Hell, I'd probably get lost just like at the shopping mall....67 here.
I was looking for something to make it look better so I looked at the over all picture this was a timed raced there were 213 that started and all had the same advantage I finished 53 overall So now I feel a little better full results are at http://www.moto-tally.com/D37/Desert/Results.aspx look at the Checkers race
John - thanks for all the video's - you're an animal! I'm over 50 (actually 60) and race my little Husky here in Az. Some day I'd like to get some time off on a weekend (I work at a car lot) to run over to Ca for one of these events. Keep the video's coming and congrats on your finishes.
Those results were a little confusing until you check the lap times and then it was easy to see people doing loops in different sequences.
Kendall Kam.......jeeeez. 2 for 2. now thats scary fast. View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3volh0eSDVU&feature=player_embedded
Robert It is to bad most people have no idea just how fast Kendall is. He is the only rider I know that has ever beat Casallie in head to head racing
http://www.dirtrider.com/features/race-reports/141_0412_tecate_hare_scrambles/ Gotta throw down a quick THS story concerning the speed of KN. There was a strong Pro contingent at the 2004 THS. and around comes this guy I never heard of Kendall Norman......there had been some questionable/"mistake" lines taken by a few on the Pro line, but all were spotted by club member check points on the course and they were sent back or DQd. KN was minutes in front of the pack after one loop of the course (I did the ammie loop in 04 so I was pitting for our Pro crew member (who finished 3rd that day!!) and not on the course for the pro race) So there I was with my big mouth and foul language-- "That ffing guy I never heard of must've cut the G-D course to all ready be out in front of the other national class pros after one lap" Kendalls dad was standing right next to me, and very strongly "corrected" me . That was the day I saw and learned who this Kendall Norman guy is. Moral watch what you say. The guy rails in single track just as good as he does in the more open stuff.
