    Hello all,

Just got an 09 WR250 and washed the bike today. I took off the seat and noticed quite a bit of water in the airbox and the filter was pretty wet. On my KTM I took off the filter and had a cover that kept water out.

What are you guys doing when you wash your bikes?

either buy a filter box cover or put a plastic grocery bag over the filter, then you can use a paper towel or two for the water leftover.

I bought a TwinAir cover that I put on when I pimp my ride. I used to put rags in the boot, but the cover is worth having in my opinion. I call it "the shower cap" .

I've never covered my air filter when cleaning my bike. What would be the effects? I always believed the filter, if it got a little wet would dry quickly.

Thanks Scootskipper, I would have never guessed that Twin Air made a cover for the Husky's. Gonna order it now.

Daniel508s, it will probably be fine but I always error on the side of caution.

I have never had that problem .... be careful with the power washer ... A little water should not hurt any way ... Oil is on UR filter, right?

thats what I do. You can wash the airbox out without getting much on the filter. Remember to remove it or your top end will suffer :D

I use the plastic bag trick. I did once ride the Newark Enduro with it still in place on my '00 WR250...... I wondered why it smoked badly and couldn't get up the hills like normal? It's a wonder it ran at all!:busted:

I did that as well. Rode a good 5-8 miles of trail wondering why my bike had no top end. Ran fine off the bottom surprisingly. :p

I rode it like that for 60 ground miles! I also had the flu real bad and my buddies shamed me into riding it. The sweep riders told me, I was as green as Kawi plastic. Great stuff!
