My 08 TXC250 is getting water in the crankcase apparently because the engine oil is very milky looking ... No white smoke from the exhaust or any sign the engine has anything wrong as it runs very well currently ...

No oil in the radiator ...No bubbling in the radiator...

Is it possible the seal behind the water pump has gone out and allowing water to enter the case there? Or any other place other than something more specific to engine where water can get into the crankcase?

I removed the pump housing and had a look ... I don't have a seal currently and after looking at the one in my bike, doubt anyone here will have a seal so I just removed the spring from around the seal, ran a small piece of hard plastic around the shaft to clean out any dirt, and sprayed some WD40 stuff around the shift and under the seal to further clean it, put a little RTV silicone gasket maker around the seal and put it back together ...

So far, after some short test rides, no more leaking... I don't think I'm out of the woods (really back in the woods) yet, but do feel confident that this is the issue and not anything more destructive... I'll still be ordering a couple of these seals quickly!

It was pretty gnarly looking when I first removed the propeller... And my sight gauge is all crapped out now ... I hope that goes away and the gauge turns back all clear again ...

That fix was temporary ... I'm back to waiting on a part now ...

Here is what it looks like removing the seal ... That plate holding the pump onto the side of the engine will come off the engine ... Then just tap on the side of the shaft opposite the bearing and drive the bearing out of that casing and that will leave the seal sitting in the housing ... Next just drive the seal back out of the case ... I used a 11mm 1/4" drive socket to drive the seal back out..

No white smoke coming from the exhaust and the bike runs AOK ... Plus I cleaned that seal once when I first discovered the leak and it was fixed for a few days so I'm ~fairy sure it is the seal ....

If I had been aware of how that seal comes out, I might could have cleaned it correctly and maybe got a few more days of riding from it while I waited on the new seal to arrive ...
