so Dropping oil as had a bigweekend away with the family and palster of paris came out instead of black oil. White thick ( like paint) and very little coolent left in system. I did do a deep water crossing and proberly sucked water into breather( yes it is routed higher) but i'm thinking i may have done a water pump seal.
I've had a look at sevice manual and it said to rotate water impeller clockwise to remove but I cant see a seal inthere that may have worn out.
Any one replaced or know what i'm looking for?
    Cheers,

Should be something like this from my 08 WR250..

From the threaded shaft outward, the first thing on the shaft is a the bushing(?) that sits on the shaft and sealing on that bushing is the actual seal, slightly blue in color ...You can see the seal springs slightly in the pics below... The small bushing or what ever you call it is to to keep that shaft from wearing grooves (010 TC250 bikes wear that shaft out because the seal runs right on the shaft)

You can wiggle that shaft and that bushing will slide off with some work ... It can have wear marks on it and will need to be replaced along with the seal ... And there is a small oring behind that bushing ..

Ok so got to the shed to turn impeller and snapped a fin so what's the go. Do I need to pill outta plate off to get to the shaft and seal or just turn the impeller?

So got impeller off with a sharp tap with large screw driver and hammer and went to order parts needed and the have to be ordered from husky over seas. So anyone have a good supplier for 2010 300 water pump parts I can order from to get quicker as they not sure on availability or time frame and we meant to be heading to bike park in a few weeks?

Gotta love pulling down ya bike to inspect wear n tear..
So parts list now involves water pump $100, chain slider as split at front and separated.. Chain and pipe as its mashed and twisted... Plus the boys 85's parts n tyres, daughters atv front pads.... Think I need to rob a bank

Dep silencer or pipe? How much? Yah I've bought a fair bit of gear off him, nice bloke, knowledgable n good service. Prices still bit suspect but price you pay for living in the 'lucky country'!

So I ended up taking the inner clutch cover off to pull the bearing and impeller shaft off and man, there was some sludge in there. All good p, cleaned and replaced parts but tryin to figger out how the power valve shaft goes..
Does it fit in the gap between the springs and washers?

All sorted( I hope) little bit tricky getting it back together. had to check the ws manual and parts manual to make sure all was in the right place. Not sure how to fully tighten the impeller but I held the shaft while hand tightened as much as possible, I was nervous to stress the fins and snap one.
Hopefully don't have to do one again but now I know what I'm doing if the opportunity does arise.
Now just gotta wait for the pipe to be straightend, add fresh fuel and fire her up.

Sounds like your all sorted, yeh bit late i know but i install pv to the cover and hold it in place with the leaver on the cover, the bar sits in the slot on the pv gear shaft its fairly obvious i know but ive seen power valve bits wedged in the spring and the other side of the slots... Bloody rock apes shouldnt be allowed to work on bikes.
