This is way off topic but I just recently went on a seven day cruise to Alaska and being that this is pretty much the only internet forum that I belong to I thought I'd share a few pics. Being from Norcal I've always been proud of the beautiful scenery we have here with the Sierra's and coastal mountains but I can now say with complete confidence that there is nothing that compares to Alaska and British Columbia. We departed from Seattle and went up the Inland Passage to Juneao, Glacier Bay, Sitka, Ketchikan, Victoria, B.C., back to Seattle. I was so blown away by the amazing beauty of Alaska and all the islands along the Inland Passage that I had to show someone. Coffee, I won't be the least bit upset if you shitcan this as I know it's totally unrelated to motorcycles. We saw lots of whales, even some Orca's , Bald Eagles galore, Glaciers calfing (chunks breaking off and plunging into the water) and just some amazing scenery. If you're the type of person who's intrigued by scenic, majestic mountains and wildlife I would recommend checking out Alaska. I took hundreds of pics, here's a few. First one is a Seattle pic for Motosportz..... View attachment 5249 View attachment 5250 View attachment 5251 View attachment 5252

Beautiful! I'm glad to see your post, my son is going on a 7 day cruise with some family friends in August(They are leaving from Seattle just as you did so sounds like the same cruise). Looks like he's going to have a great time and see some beautiful countryside! Thanks for the pics, looks beautiful up there.
I did a similar cruise with NCL a few years ago, difference being we hit Skagway in place of Sitka you mentioned, and Sawyer Glacier..........well, attempted to get to Sawyer Glacier. It got so foggy back in there that you couldn't see the back half of the ship, so we had to turn around and come out. (fog horns are LOUD!) I spent a lot of time up front on top deck, with breeze in face and a cold beer (or coffee/hot chocolate when it snowed on us one morning), watching the world go by and porpoises leap in front of the ship, while letting my work/life stresses just melt away. I'm really hoping that I can do it again someday. (wife says we have to fly to Hawaii and do the cruise around the islands first, so it may be a many years before I can see Alaska again)
Great pics. Alaska has some beautiful scenery that's no doubt. I have a lot of family in Sitka and have spent lots of time up there. Every time I leave I ask myself why I don't just pack up and move up there full time.
I would kill to visit Alaska, I would definately kill to do some riding there. For that matter BC and Washington State are also highly desirable. It is so different to Oz. The rest of the USA is more typical of what we have here. By the way nice shots-Bet you had the best time.
