Just wondering if others have traction issues on WB165s ?
Mine came with a 1.85x19" rim and was thinking to go 2.15x18" to get a bigger footprint, maybe 110/90 tire too.
Any thoughts? What are the CR165s running? Maybe Tubliss on the 19" will be enough

I run a 110 on my 19" rim as it is, I've never thought of traction as being much of an issue.

I wouldn't mind an 18" purely for the fact there's more sidewall, as I typically ride in the woods.

Thanks. Is the rim 1.85"? Yeah, I'd like more sidewall, but I think 3 or 4 ply tires help. 19" wheel and tire are also heavier, so 18" and Tubliss would shave a few pounds.

Isn't a 18" usually heavier due to the taller side wall. I thought that was one of the reasons for mx use lighter weight on the 19".

Sorry, I mean the combo of tire and wheel. I think the bigger rim makes up for less sidewall. I thought the reason is less tire roll in turns. Do the pros run 19s? Interesting all the flats in SX lately.
Currently 13:49 and like it on the 165. It was a stretch on the tired 150. Traction is great at low speed, but gets too loose when it's on the pipe. Still tuning the suspension, but I'm close enough to expect it to hook up better.

I guess I would try dialing a little rebound out.....

Thanks, me too. I'm at 2 clicks in on the rear. Going to try 40mm sag next, 35mm now. Also, don't think I like the Yammy Ti spring on this bike, so swapping it onto the 300. And thinking of adding 5-10mm of oil to the forks. It's just it feels like there's not enough tire back there to me.

Honestly I've never even considered rim width when choosing tires. 110/90/19 I believe is pretty standard here, thats about as wide as they go for a 19" rim if I recall correctly.
