I've always been curious as to what my WR weighed. I have two identical bathroom scales and pushed the bike on to the scales. With a full tank of fuel it weighed 261 LB. I was surprised it was exactly 50/50 weight distribution. I have Cycra hand guards, Motosportz bar risers, Hyde plastic skid plate, factory headlight and universal rear led tail light, Lectron carb, MT43 out back with UHD tubes in both tires and heavier fork and shock springs for my big arse.

That's why they call them "Husky's" and not "skinney's" :D

Yup. It's always felt a little heavier than I thought it should. I briefly rode a buddy's TC250, just on a gravel road to go to my car when my throttle cable broke, but it felt much lighter than my WR.

Yeah, a TC has a very light feel to it. But, I don't think my WR feels any heavier than most of the other 250 2t's set up in an Enduro mode.

the 3 gal tank times 6.1 pounds per gallon=18.3 pounds, now add coolant, about a quart or so and trans oil again about a quart and you have your wet weight, now add you upgraded, read heavy duty parts and it adds up quickly

Try pushing a GasGas 2T up your loading ramp just after you have loaded your Husky.

Yeah, I actually considered switching to GASGAS a couple of years ago, but after I felt one I changed my mind. That has to be the heaviest 2T made.

I weighed my 300 the other week. came in at 117kg(258ish lbs) which I sort of figured would be the case. same deal identical bathroom scales that weighed me the same(as a control haha!) & yeh almost same front to rear weight distribution. that was fully fuelled(stock tank) 9kg, ally bash plate 1kg, rad guards 0.5kg, barkbusters 0.5kg, uhd tubes/tyres 1kg, headlight, disc guard, steel sprockets 1kg, heavier springs front & rear. leaves wet weight of bike at around 104kg which is about right. all adds up pretty quick! still feels a heap lighter than a 450 though

my 2011 wr300 weighed 270LBS! thats with hyde skid plated guards etc and a IMS tank with 3 gals in it it !!! OVER 20LBS MORE THAN MY EQUALLY EQUIPPED 300XC AND 18 LBS MORE THAN MY 4-STROKE FE 350 AND THEY HAVE E-STARTS!.These WRs are great bikes but compared to the others They are flatout outdated and very top heavy

did you weigh all 3 bikes ready to ride?
these are common surprises, when they give a true weight of a motorcycle it does not include fluids because different fuel and ratios can affect the end number, besides like the sales at 99.99 instead of 100.00 are used to console you, a friend bought a Yamaha and it came with a wet number and an explanation of what was used to achieve it, so when you compare apples for oranges be careful of the data
but you are correct on the 300xc being a bit lighter as I recall something like 5 pounds, which is big after a long drag through the trees

I looked up the dry weights of the Husqvarna WR300 and the KTM 300XC, they are the same, which brings up the question being competitive by nature where do I find bragging rights, the 380 KTM I had a few years back was a 5 speed and my 360 Husky had a 6 speed, the KTM was easier to start, the Husky had way better gear choices, the KTM would climb better, the Husky was better for other than pure single track (6 speed), I regretted selling the 380 but at the time I did not see the need for so many bikes, that changed:D not sure why but hey, anyway my friends have 300 KTM's and Bergs, I would probably have bought one of those as I liked the feel and that stupid extra gear was there
so back to the 5vs6 speed, my 380 was a 5 speed then KTM changed the gearbox albeit also dropped the 380 that I liked, Husky dropped a gear oops
all bikes have good and bad points but should be judged fairly, weight, power, rider ergonomics, usability, serviceability and available parts and accessories

so in my competitive nature I try to justify my current two 360's but am running out of reasons to not switch

We are having a big ride this weekend. I'll bring my scales with me, if I remember, and weigh some of my buddies bikes for comparison.

thank you, very curious, when you list them do a look over at accessories and if they have any parts missing or a massive amount of dirt stuck somewhere

Not actually, the KTM and Berg came in at exactly the advertised LBS when a bought them new, the Husky advertised at 229 LBS was actually 237 no fuel and I checked that several times

The husky is a little husky. Also it is amazing how much HD tubes and off road tires add tot he package. Can be north of 10 pounds. Choose that stuff wisely if weight is a concern to you. I personally dont care much about weight but more how they feel on the trail.

For anyone curious about bike weight but having only one bathroom scale, you can get an accurate weight one end at a time as long as the bike is level. So front wheel on scale, back on 2x4 (or something the same thickness as scale), note weight. Repeat with back on scale, front on 2x4, add. This also gives an accurate weight distribution.

If weighing a WR250/300, you can skip the leveling step to get a weight you are happier with :)

Only a few of my buddies showed up, so I only got a few bikes to weigh.

2006 Husky TC250 Handguards, skid plate, knobby tires, not sure about tubes, and unfortunately maybe 10lbs of mud. 280 lbs. Will weigh it again when it's clean.

2007 KTM 300 XC-W. Handguards, sprung for 200 lb rider, carbon pipe guard, MT43, UHD tubes and the original Rekluse. 271 lbs.

2006 KTM 400 EXC. Handguards, skid plate, knobby tires, UHD tubes. 317 lbs.

    ???? Honda XR250R Handguards, MT43 rear. 261 lbs.
