    Hello Husky enthousiasts,

Since one year I’m the proud owner of a TR650Terra (the last TR sold in the Netherlands :) )
Besides the known issues as lean stumble / off idle stall, which I solved with a AF-Xied I’m very happy with the bike.

    Until last weekend…….
After a few hours riding, a flashing ABS light appeared in the dashboard. I checked the sensors (for dirt or something) but the ABS light kept flashing and the malfunction increased by a speedometer showing 0 KM/h, the RPM meter shows 0 RPM and the motor management light turns on (while driving 120 Km/h and the engine keeps running nicely  ). At intervals of +/- 1 minute these malfunctions disappear and appear. When I stop the bike and turn off the engine it won't start again for 30 minutes (red triangle and EWS showing).

Yesterday I removed the AF-Xied which didn’t help.

    Anybody a idea?
    Thanks!

Welcome pepernoot. do a search through the TR650 forum here and search for EWS and read every thread which this is mentioned because there have been a few different issues reported and some resolved.
I *think* someone once reported a similar issue to yours and it was resolved by ensuring that the wiring plug into the dashboard was plugged in correctly.

    Hello Nev..

Thanks for your response! I checked the forum already, noted the threads with the EWS error and ensured that the cable is properly connected to the dashboard (took off the front pannel and checkt all the wiring for loose connectors). I also did a "reset" of the computer following the description in the thread about this subject.
Today I bring the terra to the dealer....

    I will keep you posted

Also check the battery connections. I've had an error show up, but the bike run fine, when a battery cable became loose.

That would be me. Pull the headlight cowling and you will see a metal cross member that helps support the headlamp. Behind it you will find that the wiring harness along with a m/f plug zip tied in place to the back side of the metal. This plug was loose on my bike and started giving me errors on the dash and at times the bike just wouldn't start. I did a lot of wire chasing and finally found this plug loosened. It was in place but just loose enough to make and break contact. I re-seated the plug, zip tied them together so they cannot get loose and again and Voila' the errors quit, the bike started fine and the problem solved (for me at least).

Be careful not to pull on the wire to the antenna ring. If the ring breaks you have another problem.

    Hi DRZ charlie,

Thanks, I saw your reply in the thread and checked the connector.
    Regretfully no improvement.

Dealer fixed the problem, not clear what it was, they didn't investigate, just reset the ECU and the problem was cone.... Hopefully it stays this way although it is not really reassuring.

The dealer also did the first 10.000 km maintenance.... valve check, engine oil, chain, air filter... They charged me 850,- euro's for this!!! This is going to be a quite expensive bike :(

Pleased to here you got it sorted.

Checking the valves on its own is big job and 850 euro for that and all the filters is probably not to bad.

Glad it is sorted out. By the way, where did you purchase your TR because my dealer told the same story to me about that the TR that I own is the last officially dutch imported one in the country :P.

    Hi Cyntax,

I bought the TR a year ago at Arie Molenaar after calling all the dealers in Holland (all sold out). My TR was actually sold/put aside forsomebody else but he had some financial troubles and decided not to pick up the bike.

Nice to meet a dutch owner!
