So I hope this is the right forum for my question. I wanted to know what dirt bike would be best suited for me.
I am 5 feet 4 inches 125 pounds and I'm not going to get any taller I have no experience but don't want something slow either. I also would prefer a 2 stroke but a 4 stroke would be fine to :). But if anyone out there can help that would be awesome.

    Thanks :)

are there certain brands you are looking at? what is your budget? do you have any experience with four wheelers or using a clutch?

I'm good with any brand really just don't want something unreliable as far as my budget Im looking for used bikes so top 1500 would probably be my budget. I did ride some 4 wheelers about 8 years ago but nothing since then and they were clutch. And thank you :)

with your height perhaps a something like an xr200 would be a good buy. those are about as reliable as you can get. a kx100 or something a tad smaller than a 125 would also suit. almost all bikes are pretty reliable, just depends on how the previous owner took care of it

For your height and weight you could go with an 85 cc 2- stroke.

Both, they are 2 stroke engines, they handle great, & are very quick.

A Honda CRF 230 is another good beginner bike that is very easy to ride trail bike. Not too powerful and very forgiving. It's not much of a MX bike because the suspension is not set up for it. But you can play around on an MX track provided your not looking to try triples or other stuff that a bike designed for MX bikes. These bikes are air cooled with an electric start and can be found on Craig's List for a reasonable cost.

forget the 80. you really want full size wheels (18-21) or 19 21 to help you with both ground clearance and going over obstacles. $1,500 will get you a decent bike if you shop around! At 5' 4" your shorter then me 5' 7" The 125's are pretty tall stock. A prior to 2012 gas gas 200 with a lowering link probably would work. The engine has much more torque then a 125 so it will help you out in some situations. Those bike are like a 7/8 scale bike and are fair in the weight department. I see old Gassers in that $1500 range. If they make a kdx 200 lowering link that is a great bike as well and believe I could still ride one of those pretty darn fast if needed! 2-stroke does not break often and 200 cc and below can be kick started with ease! The 230 Honda would certainly be a decent bike as well for you. with fair torque. Set your sag and static sag. At your weight you may need a lighter rear shock spring and or fork springs. You can have your bike professionally lowered however I have tried that a couple times and believe it does effect handing to much for the benefit. Good luck and happy hunting......... I already thought about a KX 100 but really full size wheels offer such a huge improvement..

I think the KX100 is a great suggestion. My oldest grandson had one when he was 5 '3" - 5' 5" and he and it got along great. You can find one within your budget with no problem. Good luck.
