Right guys, I've searched high and low for a decent thread on grips...

So what grips you using? What do you recommend?

I'll get things started, atm I have the husqvarna standard grips, they are ok, good groove design on the throttle.

Although they can get uncomfortable after a few hours riding!

I like the Pro Taper Pillowtop and Pillowtop Lites (just because they're black and match better. lol). I ride and race trails for the most part.

I agree with the pillow tops.... keep in mind that they wear out very quickly....

Yep, I tried the pillowtops too, great grips but wear quickly... So I went back to the good ole Renthal Duel Layer grips, half waffle. Last for a loooonnnggg time.

Pillow tops by far. They solved my arm pump and numbness issues. As mentioned, be prepared to change them often as they do wear quickly, but they're worth the extra money and effort IMHO.

This item is often overlooked, but is WAY more important then a person realizes. I know for a FACT without the grips I'm used to I CAN"T ride my bike as fast!! And I'm sure of this as crazt as it sounds. I have average sized hands. And I have tried a zillion grips but for over 20 year ALWAYS run Oury Pyramid grips. Ifr you have smaller hands these grips will help you hold on for longer and give you better feel then a padded thick grip that gives me arm pump. Remember this is all preference, what works for me may not for you. Try some till YOU find the one you like!!! The pyramid grip is real thin and does not last super long (a season or so). Good luck!!

I felt same way, good grip at first but wore way too fast and then hurt my hands.......I'm done with them.
That's the brand I'm now using now, Spider M1 grips. Really happy with them......like them well enough after several rides, that I bought a second matching set for when my current set wears out.

My 510 has some Ourys, and the RM250 has some new Pillow Tops.

Thinkin' the Husky will get its' own Pillow Tops at next grip change...seem to feel a little more comfy with the pillows.

I agree, it is all a matter of preference and that is why there are so many. Grips and pegs are super important in my opinion. On that note I have been a fan of the Pro Grip 790 in the Husky red/black that CH was using. I tried pillow tops and they seem great as well, I think would even work the best in a muddy race. Just got a set of Pro Grip 788's to try. Does anyone know the difference between 788 and 790?

ProTaper pillow tops are to grips what KTM street legal bikes are to dirtbikes. Husky had streetlegal dirtbikes first then KTM copied a good idea and got all the press for it. Spider grips were around for years before pillow tops came along. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them, just that spider grips are the original of that style. I tried Pillowtops and didn't like them so went back to spider grips and haven't found a better one yet. Everyone likes something different so try a few until you find what you like.
