WHAT IS THE BEST HANDLING 82 or 83

What handles the best at the rear over the rough stuff the more upright 82 set up or the itc 83 84 set up. I was wondering about reducing the angle of the shock at the swinging arm and shortening the shock on my 83, I think the itc set up was designed for your lean mean 9 10 stone rider and worked great. I need it to work with 14stone of old boy on it, Its mod the rear end or go for a revalve and springs. Any views and exsperience would be interesting.

If I did the math right, 14 stone is 196 lbs. I weigh 210 lbs (15 stone), and I like the ITC MUCH better than the earlier system, primarily because of stiffer available springs and the bottoming piston in the ITC design. The main problem with the earlier system is lack of available replacement rubber bottoming bumpers of the denser varieties, which were key for controling bottoming for " average size riders" ( 200 LBS+).

i HAVE BOTH 82 AND 83 HUSKIES, PREFER THE SUSPENSION ON 83 BY FAR.

Thanks for that , I think I need a revalve and a new spring set up, I was finding it was just to soft, Falcon shox in the uk has exsperience with 83 84 set as he has a twin shock 510 himself and has offered to respring with a duel set up and revalve to suit.

falcon shocks did my rear end ...oooh eer....not cheap mind but a vast improvement and i'm a couple stone heavier than you...
