Under the general discussion I found mentioned that Husky is bringing out a 350 smoker for 2012.

    Could this be true?

really, it wouldnt take that much for the factory to beefen up the bottom end for this to work :D

There is a vid with a husky racer talking about the WR350 he is testing. Speculation is it is nothing more than the old WR360 motor massaged and in the new bike.

I'm just waiting for a fresh design of the motor and updated chassis. I'm guessing 2013...

Humm..... I would rather they make a 200 with good low-mid power and put it in the 125 frame. From all I have read the 300 Husky has all the power you can handle.

I love big bore smokers, with that being said what can a 350 do that a 300 can't? Unless they do away with the 300. Then I can understand.

Just give me the new 2012 frame and l'll give you a WR350 [IMG]

What can a 360 do that a 300 can't...nothing except the 360 has a ton more low down torque but taper's off quicky at the top end due to the the old design of the motor which was really built for low to mid torque.

300 will handle better due to better ergo's and frame rake/trail vs chassis that still stuck in the 90's.

Like the 300 but l love the 360...make's going up hill a laugh just blipping the throttle and play with the torque 4 stroke style [IMG]

One thing my 300 hates even with the race head/pipe and PWK carb is big soft dunes. Thats when torque wins everytime.
Though it is fun redlining the 300 in 5th in the face of a big dune to get up it :D

Naw, They only need to come out with a production 175cc. Probably all that would be needed.

360 must have some top end...... Trail Rider Magazine test of 2002 WR360 saw a top speed of 89 mph with stock 15/48 gearing. They said slick wet Spring conditions were the limiting factor, as at even near 90 mph they could still spin the rear tire. That sounds like top end with torque! They also said they asked for a 14 tooth front sprocket, as they thought 15/48 would be too high for low speed situations...... they never opened the package!

How about a 200cc with a lower seat height? The husky fits me well @6' but is too tall for most.

Degg at 5' 7" myself your idea sounds like a great plan! Vinduro you are probably right a 175 would do it but they have the 150 now and I figured with a 200 Husky would have all the bases covered. KTM sure sells a few 200's.

    Norman,

The 360 can be made to rev out but just isn't really where you make your hay. Husky used the intake boot and reed stuffer to limit hi-speed air flow. Opening those up creates better mid/top but riding on the bottom on that wonderful wave of torque seems the best way to make time safely. It is geared to fly though. I geared mine to 15x46 to take advantage of the ability of the motor to idle up anything without stalling and cruise down the hiway at 65 effortlessly. I love that motor.

Where can you pickup a complete motor? I want one (360 that is)
Anyone please drop me a PM if they know of someone selling a worthy 360 engine :)

    Sandgroper,

I think the best way to find a motor is to buy an older 360 that is selling cheap. Of course it is a crap shoot as to condition but these motors tend to be bullet proof if they were maintained at all.

Yep that pic is of a 360 motor in that frame. Why not, great motor and it bolts directly into the frame. It also looks like the stock SPES pipe too.
