A friend of mine is interested in an 06 TE450. The current owner apparently says he bought it from a friend who crashed a lot so the original plastics have been swapped for the current black and red colors. Is there anything specific to a Husky that he should be looking for as far as problems besides the basic used bike buying tips? He already knows the basic stuff, does is start easily when cold, all nuts and bolts there and are not a mix of stuff from Home Depot and bailing wire, anything appear bent, smooth suspension, etc., basic stuff.

    This is from the ad...

Street Legal, license plate, TE 450, new Renthal chain & sprockets, Pro Taper bars, BRP chain guide, Uptite skidplate, JD jet kit, Scotts steering damper mount, and many more....

    The seller is asking $3500.

    Thanks,

    Chris

That is a good bike. How many miles/hours?

The only crash damage that I can think of is you may want to check the subframe. If that is still unbent then the drops were quite likely minor in nature.

The odo is apparently broken, which seems to be a common problem? Pretty much the first thing I do with my bikes when I get them is install an hour meter, I do not think a lot of people do that. I'm sure that any guess as to the mileage or time on the engine is going to be a WAG.

    Thanks for the response Dean.
