The part number for 08 / 09 Husky four stroke oil filter changed to HF563 from HF154 (2007 and earlier).

There were problems in the supply line - does anyone know if they are available now?

    Welcome to the Cafe.
You may check with George at Uptite In Santa Ana Ca. for the oil filters. I believe he had them on order and may have them in stock by now. There was some discussion about the new oil filters vs. the old oil fitlters so maybe a search of this forum willl net you some info.

    Here ist the story:

the spring in the new filter is stronger than in the old one due to higher oil pressure of the 08 and 09 engines. So the HF563 is the right one for the latest models. The HF563 works well with the 07 and older engines though.

    I wouldn't go with the HF154 for a 08 or 09 engine.

This is the same filter as the Aprilia, should not be that hard to get hold of.

Just so no one else reads this wrong, the new filter is for the DOHC motors. But for the 610 you can use either filter.

How I understand it, the new filters are somewhat bigger in dimensions then the 07 and older filters. The bypass valve is larger on the new filter. A stainless steel filter will pass more oil hot or cold so the bypass valve will never be used on a SS filter.

I have read of someone running a DRZ SS filter on a TE 610. I imagine if the filter fits and seals well with an o-ring/gromit and it's cover spring then it is good to use.

I run the Scotts SS filter in my 510 and it's dimessions match the 07 and older filters.

Bike bandit has the HF563 for 5.70 each. I also saw a whole shelf full at Up-tite today.
