I've searched everywhere on google. I just bought an 87 or 88 Husqvarna 430 dual sport knowing it needed new clutch springs. I however searched everywhere using google and can't find anywhere that I can find springs. Does anyone have recommendations for this kind of part?
Husqvarna-parts.com Hall's Cycles of Springfield, IL sells new and used Ducati, Gas Gas and Husqvarna motorcycles and ATVs HVA Factory youll have to work on your google-fu if you want to ride the mighty swede
Yea I've looked everywhere, even the links you gave me. I've got a 1987 husqvarna wr430 with an automatic transmission, which apparently is EXTREMELY rare.
I think you have a 430ae if halls cant help you well you mite be well this is a family forum so try Andy @hva in the uk
I tried Hals last night, they don't have it. I just contacted hva. If I can't get this part which it's starting to look like, does anyone have other suggestions? Could I get like a door spring and jerry rig it to fit? I'm pissed because the bikes almost completely complete except 3 damn clutch springs!
Found it! Ebay, but apparently my bike has some kind of replacement hub so it uses older springs, which I found. Considering how rare the 1987 430 AE is, I'm starting to consider this a steal for $500. Everything's complete that I know of except these springs and minor stuff like turn signals and the horn.
It 'd be better for you to put your next threads about your 430 ae on vintage/ left kickers. We talk about husqvarna from the beginning to 88'.
The 88 AE is a 3 speed auto, and the 86-87 AE is a 4 speed auto. The main reason the 1st gear springs break is the the clutch shoes are worn, and over strech the springs. The 1st grar springs are different than the 2-4 springs. Be sure the grooves in the 1st gear clutch is clean and straight with square groove sides on them, and measure the clutch wear as per the manual. You MUST change the gear oil after EVERY ride or race. Olhins light shock oil is the same as Husky AE gear oil. Pull all the grars and clutchs after every 10 hours running, and inspect everything for wear. Always run it wide open and hang on, or off the gas. Nothing pulls or climbs like a Husky AE.
