So Mr. Harden stated that they would have a rider in the National Enduro series and I was wondering who they may try to get? Give up your picks lets get some riders. I am picking Brad Baken and Jason Raines on the WR 300, just because I think he is still a two stroke rider.
Whoever they pick will be on a TXC/TC250 for sure. Dont be surprised to see Kearney ride a few Nationals next year. I think they would be smarter to push the AMA Enduros over the GNCCs. They dont have the budget to run a true factory effort but they could give a couple of enduro hot shots some new bikes and some parts and be very competitive.
I agree that Kearny will race some Nat'l Enduro's next year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if his win at the Little Brown Jug this year is what prompted Scot to say that. I don't see Jason Raines leaving Am-Pro any time soon. And from what I've heard he likes the WR450's more than anyone else on the Am-pro team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kearny doing the Nat'l Enduro's full time and Husky getting someone else doing the GNCC's. Either way, I love it that Husky is putting money into some good teams!!!
Ben Smith and Rory Sullivan. Scot pretty much said it will be TXC250's and young riders. With Mike Lafferty going to Husaberg, Rory is probably the odd man out.... with Nick Faringer staying, as been stated by Husaberg. Rory is a West Coast rider with broad experience... National Enduro, MX, AX, ISDE. Ben has enduro in his DNA. National Enduro, ECEA, ISDE, WEC. East Coast rider to make a nice balance. I'd like to see Fred Hoess ride/manage the team. I'd like to see Wally Palmer, but he's not focused enough.
I think Rory is staying with Berg. Graffunder would excel at National Enduros as well. Palmer would be a disaster.
+ 1 for fred to manage/ride + 1 for ben smith +1 Brad Baken new name...Jake Korn new name.....Rich Lafferty Palmer if fred keeps a leash on him......fast, talented but like we all were..young
Kurt Caselli. Just love the guy. Jason Raines. WR300, fast, local to me pro with good work ethic. Needs to stop crashing out. Doug Henry with a custom ovalized narrow white cage Ryan Hughes as coach, whip, trainer
Colorado AA rider Ian Blythe. He finished 3rd to Bobbit and Lafferty at the Wyoming round. http://www.moto-tally.com/nepg/Results.asp?EY=2009&EID=6&vT=CT
I figure Brad Baken will slot into the #2 spot on KTM behind Bobbitt with his 3rd overall. Lots of talk from Husaberg about Mike and Nick for 2010, nothing about Rory. I'd love to see Rich Lafferty on a Husky, but doubt we'll see that. I think KTM and Brooks have a lock on New England guys like Jake Korn.
This could be A very exciteing time, with other teams downsizeing there could be some terific riders avalable. I'm thrilled that Husky will return to natonal enduro, it is A truely natonal series. The last rider to win A natonal enduro on A Husky was fred Hoess lets hope someone can repeat that feat in 2010!
Kearney probably will do some enduros as his chances of collecting some contingency $ are probably better than with GNCCs. He has a lot better chance of top 5'ing a National Enduro than a GNCC, especially on a 250F.
I met Jason Raines at a National Harescramble here in Arizona. He is a really nice guy and I follow his results. Might be a little to old for the Husky team and doubt he would leave Yamaha. Kearny seems logical and Blythe is a good choice. Grafunder is already on the team and seems like he has skills. Here is a name you might hear in the future. Max Gerston. He rides our local series and beats pro's on a regular basis. Just moved up to a 450 for next year.
one more vote for jake korn,a fast young kid who is already tearing it up as the top GNCC privateer on a 250F KTM,love to see him on the new TXC250!!
The top two riders have signed for 2010, Husqvarna wants to win, bring Juha, Meo, and run Glenn K. Using 250 fourstrokes, they ride the six sections, and return to other business, other wise it's gona be another KTM show. In reality I don't see any one in the USA that can beat Russel or Mike in 2010.
kirkpatrick, Baaken, Buttrick, and or one hardcore Canadian....Graffunder, gotta go young and hungry and also young Smith could be on the potenial rider list.
