Hi Guys. New to this forum, but not to Husky's. Although I just bought my first 2-stroke Husky.... Brand new leftover 2007 WR250!

I've read about all the stock reed failures, so I'm wanting to replace them straight away. I can't find any specific aftermarket reeds for this bike...? WTH?

I've read that guys are running V-Force Artic Cat #3P883A Reeds, and also Boyesen Honda CR250 Reeds #633?

What are you guys running specifically, and how do you like them? Any Mods needed?

    Thanks!

What do you mean by stock reed failures? First I've heard of this.

    Failures...search my posts on TT.:D

Basically in 06/07, the reed petals would break, this occurred on both 125s and 250s. Some say it was a bad batch as not all bikes had issues. Others said it was due to the petals being thinner than standard(as requested by husky).

Note these failures are only on VForce 2 setups, those with VF3's are fine.

My '07 reeds cracked and I switched to a V-force V3 block. I used a Honda V3 block, but I've heard others haven't able to install them on their bikes. :excuseme:

I just sent the V2 block to letitsnow for him to use on his older WR.

Is there a easy way to tell if I have the V2 or V3 block? My block just says "V-Force" on the side of it. The bike is a brand new leftover '07, so I want to be sure all is good before riding it much. I've read where guys back in '07 were sucking reeds and screws destroying their new motors.

    Thanks

When I type that part # into Dennis Kirk's website it comes up as a replacement reed set for the V 3 block. I wonder if they will work on the older V 2 block ???

3P682M is the part number for the V-3 replacement reeds.

I'd say DK just has the description wrong and that's actually the V-2 petals.

V-3 reeds are a snap in design and I doubt they'll work on the V-2.

Thanks man! I spent some time on the phone with Moto Tassinari and Dennis Kirk today. I am going to order some replacement reeds and if they end up being the correct part, I will post up the part number for everybody.

What do I owe you for the cage shipping? Please pm me your address and I'll pay you right away.

The stock WR250 that came with the V Force 2 reed cage will have either a 2 or 3 pedal reed cage. Moto Tassinari says there is no way to know this unless you look at the reeds.

If you have the 2 petal cage you need part # 2P110-1 (or Dennis Kirk part # 180985).

If you have the 3 petal cage you need 2P127-1.

My 2 petal reeds arrived today, so I am speaking from experience.

    Letitsnow,

So were the 2P110-1 Reeds correct for your 2-pedal cage?

I opened mine up this past weekend and found a 2-pedal cage too. Bummer, I had already bought the 3-pedal Reeds! :banghead:

Nope the 3P682M will not work, took mine apart today, got sold the wrong reeds, I do have some friends with KTM's with the V3, maybe i'll sell the reeds to them and not have to deal with a return.
