They have different frames, you'd be whole lot better off converting a wr125 to sm spec, not just because of fitting, but also because of stress tolerances.

You wont be the last to think such an idea is a goer, you have already derestricted the sm and tuned to optimum?

No i have had this sm now for 5 months ive never rid it lol! i am finding it hard to get a repair manual for it.ive never had a husky before.i dont know if its been derestricted all i know its got a full dep pipe on it.but i think the mains are on the way out and aint got a clue where i can have it rebuilt.thats why i considerd the wr engine as ive got one that runs mint.that will have to be sold now lol.

You should have no problem finding a Husqvarna or BMW garage to get a service and report on your bike, they'll be able to tell you if your bike has been fully derestricted or not and, if it hasn't, do the work or supply the parts (mostly just jetting needles and slider - as you already have a 'proper' exhaust).

    WR 125 + 40 = WB 165 and a SM165

I would check the ignition the power valve actuation and the carburetor
the SM 125 I ve seen differ all in these components on the engine

for sure the WR converting to a SM would be my way to go (the SM doesn't have the same adjustments in the front fork either)
