I have the WINGS Ti slip on silencers with carbon fiber end caps on my TE 630. These pipes are a hand made piece of art. The fit and finish is excellent. They are titanium with carbon and are very light. I did not have a scale to put them on but both sides together feels lighter then one stock can. Titanium is new to me. I was not aware how cool it runs. I could put my hand on the pipe after 20 miles of 60-65mph riding. This will be real nice for mounting some bags on the rear of the bike. Heat wont be an issue now. They came with two different sizes of db-killers, that have spark arrestor screens for the US and Canadian silencers. Running them with out a spark arrestor is not allowed off road here, but I did try it on the street. Running them open they sound real nice. Nice thump but as with any open pipe they would be to loud for my ears while putting on the miles. The small db-killers are rated at 80 db, that is the same as stamped on the stock exhaust. The larger db-killers are rated at 83 db I tried the two different size db-killer/spark arrestors and will be leaving the larger ones installed as they flow the best and are surprisingly quiet. The bike runs so smooth and my butt dyno tells me it pulls harder and revs quicker then stock. My air box is opened up, bike is p/u, stock ecu with all three CO's at 100%. I am very happy with the WINGS pipes on my 630. They deserve a look by other 630 owners wanting to upgraded their exhaust and shed some weight. They run great and sure do look nice. http://www.wings.si/ver3/index.html?page=about_us
Your other bike doesn't have the cat IN the can. The cat is what gets hot, and on the factory Husky system, the cats are in the cans. Titanium has nothing to do with how hot the can gets. I converted my factory cans to flowthroughs, and after a hard ride i can wrap my hand around the factory aluminum can.
Titanium has almost half the heat capacity of aluminum, and about the same as steel. If a piece of aluminum and titanium were the same temperature, the aluminum would feel cooler when you hold it. Titanium is also denser than aluminum and a can made of titanium, from the same thickness of stock, will weigh more than an aluminum can. All of which makes me wonder why people get their socks rolling up and down over titanium muffler cans, when a aluminum part is available. I can understand replacing steel mufflers, headers and exhaust pipes with titanium (as in a car), but motorcycles have aluminum mufflers.
I hear they are 600 plus freight rom Europe.... (for the US) I am just baffled that there are no specs in their site. How hard is it to weigh the damn thing?
It looks 990 retail for twin titanium slip ons. I had a saved page with pricing. These are not an easy find though.
Under 700 USD if you order directly from the factory in Slovenia. But it would be nice to have a sound file or more specs. @Xlenduroman: could you shoot a short video - I'd just love to hear the sound. Anybody knows how they compare to Arrows or LVs? And do they come with 2 db killers?
$594 for the silencers + $75 shipping to the USA. Contact the factory at the email on their site. They do come with 2 db-killer/spark arrestors. There are good pics under "details" on the website. I will work on getting a vid/sound clip up of these beauties.
Wings exhaust are made in my country Slovenia, just like Akrapovič Here is link to Dealers for Europe and US (http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/wings-dual-slip-ons-for-the-630.21504/) And pics of 630 with wings! (http://www.wings.si/ver3/index.html?page=bikes&brand=husqvarna)
They are shipping worldwide -US market included despite the fact they have an US dealer. They only don't ship to Canada, Australia and Africa.
