Had a very enjoyable day on Friday blasting through the woods but I think that may well have been my last ride of the season.

So....I need to figure out what maintenance to do over the winter.

    Here's my list so far:

    Definitely:
    Chain
    Sprockets
    Rear tire
    Check valve clearances

    Maybe:
    Swing arm bearings
Forks - re-spring, new fork seal
    Steering head bearings

Anything else I missed ? Should I do my maybe list ?

Sadly, that's not an option here in New England. I'd love to ride all year round and I can dress for the cold but the trails are either closed or not passable. I do ride my XRL on the road so I get my bike fix in but when the white stuff starts falling, it's time to ski :applause:

Is there anything else I should be thinking of looking at/doing ? As per my sig, bike is an 06 TE450 that has about 1,700 miles on it. Mainly ridden on trails here in New England so it's had a fairly hard life so far.

Water pump, oil pump ? Anything ?

At the risk of sounding like a smart alec - maybe update your profile with your location? I had no clue you were in the NE part of the country.

I would do everything on your maybe list. If you have not had a re-valve then you could really be enjoying life in the spring time if that is in your budget (that would take care of the fork seals).

You might want to consider putting the battery in a warmer climate than the garage.

My bad Dean - I will update my profile.

I plan on doing all the normal winterizing stuff (stabil in the gas tank, battery out and on a tender inside etc.) but I was just wondering if there were some things I should be considering doing given the age and usage of the bike.
