. Luckily, it's been raining a bit out here, maximizing the traction conditions of the local trail areas. We had partly cloudy skies last Thursday, and shirt sleeve temperatures out at Corral Canyon. And now, it's raining again, so we will have another nice weekend.

This is a view of Spur Meadow trail, from up on Los Pinos truck trail.

We are braving the brutal winter conditions out here.

Also the first time I have given chase to another rider, while trying to stay close to them with the GoPro recording. A little tough at times, since I like to go at tourist speeds, and Jeff kicks it up a little higher than that. Since he wasn't too familiar with some of the trails, I had to engage in the motorcycle version of backseat driving, two or three times to ensure that he took the correct route.:D

I need to get down there again. I raced mountain bikes a couple years in the rain there (Sagebrush Safari '04, 05). Some of the best riding in the SoCal Series at the time.

Pretty cool looking trails there ... I like'em wide like that ... might wanna make a pass or something..

For movie making, I'll follow these little bikes here pretty close but the bigger bikes I'm a little leery of rocks being tossed ...

Usually I'm in the lead, and moving at a relaxed rate of speed. Even so, Jeff sometimes comments about eating roost from the 300. When following him, I have not had a camera running in the past, so I was able to mosey along at a safe and clean distance.

Being a movie maker is not always easy or safe :( ... It sounded like roost was pretty close to you a couple times when he was going some of those smaller jumps towards the end of the VID ...

250\300 2t are bad enough but myself, I don't even wanna ride with 450s on trails... They just toss too much from the rear tires ...

    --

This pic is from a rider on my 250cc 2t bike ...The tire on it was pretty worn and the guy had no boots on but was a good rider ...He eased through the corners and would gas it on the straights.. That rock started way-outside, to my right, and curved all the way across in front of me and missed ...I never got that close to him again when movie making.

So Cal annual ride would be the best, what better place? I'd tow down for it and leave Siberia if only for a few short days. In and Out plus real Mexican foods what could go wrong? Let's get it on for 2015............

Weekdays are the best, but that probably doesn't work for most people. February, March are good months, still nice and cool and a good chance of rain. Discuss amongst yourselves....
