Wow just received my suspension back from Works Enduro Rider. Everyone knows Drew! These Guys are amazing! He and Mike are 2 of the Nicest, Helpful, Professional and Knowledgeable people in the business of Dirt Bikes and Most of all SUSPENSION!!! I even got to spend some time with Drew’s Dad as he came to go out to lunch with his son! A lunch in which they invited my buddy and I along for, However the school bus deadline was upon us so we had to get back in time for our Sons.
So My journey started a week prior, I have used Drew before on old bikes, but this time I wanted to bring the bike and have him see me on it as opposed to ups to deliver the parts. He is within an hr drive from me.
So in typical fashion I had one address in the i-phone and one in the gps. One was ave and one was rd. Needless to say I went the wrong way. So after deciding I went the wrong way I see a sign for a NJ state forest so I pull in to re-assess my directions when a Police officer is coming towards me. His thoughts played out in my mind, “where does this ass think he is going with that dirt bike in the back of his truck, this is a state forest and there is 3 ft of snow”! With that we roll our windows down and he says “ what’s up “ I say I am Looking for Works Enduro Rider, He says what are you having some suspension work done, I laughed everyone knows Drew, He says, hey is he busy I have to get my old bike back in there. I laughed again, and said why do you think I am here with all this snow, he is really getting busy .He says you are in the wrong spot here are some directions write these down, perfect I say now how should turn around, He says screw it, I will just turn on my lights and block traffic after all its for one rider to another! Wow the good Karma started and things are looking good.
So I follow the directions and they were perfect and there I see what he described as the house and the un assuming garage, and think I hope this is it. No One was there, no signage, but he told me about the lunch time and I was there early so I will wait. Just to be sure I called the phone as I could see and hear it ring through the window and then the fed ex guy dropped off some boxes of forks. Ok we are all good now!
10min later Drew and Mike show up, it’s like we had met a dozen times before and they couldn’t be any nicer! It was freezing that day and we hauled the bike off the truck and into the shop. He remembered our conversation from months back and I remembered his, remembering to bring the stock linkage as I was using a Kouba Link to lower the bike. Now you read all the stuff about all these other race suspension shops and I know they are good, but the time they spent with me and all the knowledge they possess you just know this is a very special place! Well we immediately go to work starting at the beginning, we tore out the Kouba Link and threw in the stock link and started at square one. He made tons of sense and things I was feeling about the bike he described as if we had rode together and he witnessed it. They spent an Hr + with me and I knew I was in good hands. So Off I go, let me know how you make out, ok I will be in touch I may even be done by the weekend, Wow, I thought Can’t ride with all the Snow but that would be Awesome.
So in typical Drew fashion I receive a call the next day with tons of info from Drew about how he has worked on this bike for the prior owner and how I was correct with what I described as the prior rider was about 60+ pounds heavier and much taller than me, oh and by the way I should be done by tomorrow with your bike. Seriously that’s awesome I can’t get there till Monday but that’s great.
No worries he replies just let me know when you are coming out!
So the next day I receive the final call on the bike and we spend a lengthy time on the phone describing everything he did and why and also he came in about $100.00 under budget! Unbelievable! I will be there Monday.
So I arrive with my buddy on Monday and we are so impressed. Right away I could tell tell the bike sat lower 1.5” to be exact, the bike felt super super plush just like my old KTM he set up now I am really getting excited, too bad we can’t ride yet all this damn snow. He again spends over an HR with me going over every square inch of work he did. Bottom line, the bike just felt right for me!
So this is part one of the story as I haven’t been on it yet! It felt great on the street. He even remembered to send me all my fork and shock decals as I reminded him about cause I want everyone to use them for suspension!
So its funny, I just felt I should write this to all my Café Husky Friends because we are all so passionate about our bikes. You know it’s right place when everyone has great things to say about them , you see tons of positive write ups on Drew and Mike, and then you experience it yourself, and how could I forget, I got my decals and put them on tonight! Please everyone if you are thinking suspension don’t hesitate on W.E.R. They are worth every penny! So Drew, Mike and Drew’s Dad, Thank You! I will post part 2 after the ride but I can tell already it’s going to be fun!

Great to hear. Suspension work isn't the cheapest thing around, but it's nice when the customer service makes up for it.

    Look forward to the update.

Just wanted to say it would help if you break your post into paragraphs. As it is quite hard to read the way it is. Cheers

Great write Jimmy. I hope you enjoy your new suspension. Especially in the rocks because that stuff is tough to me. Let us know how you like it after you dial it in to your likings.

Jimmy I couldn't agree with you more. I first went to Drew & Mike a couple of years ago on the recommendation of my cousin who used to ride with them 15 or so years ago. Best money I ever spent on my bike. I even went back to them to get stickers for my fork guards because one broke. Everyone should be using these guys for suspension work. I am lucky they are only about 15 miles from me. What I love is knowledge they have and are willing to share...you just need to ask.
