125-200cc wr 125 airbox mod?

    iv been doing alot of riding around lakes latly and have 3 times gave my bike a drink in deep water. anyone that has the 06- wr knows the drain in the bottom of the airbox.has anyone blocked it up or modded it in any other way for water riding because i dont even get wet above my ankles and the husky coughs out

    Silicone seal the slot and then drill a hole as big as a dime, in the very bottom of the air box. Next step is.... either put a piece of duct tape over the hole inside the airbox and cut an "X" in it, so the water that does get in can drain. Or.... you can find a KTM or Yamaha bulb style drain and install it in the hole. I always used a KTM one.

    Not saying its not water getting in the airbox as not familier with a 06 but if your overflow pipes from the carb become submerged the bike will also die, If you tee them and run two up into the airbox or what ever it should become a submarine.

    any pics by any chance jonny?? that could be whats happening more so because i didnt think the tide mark in the airbox was high enough to stop the engine

    Your looking for this sort of setup, The T pieces should be easy to obtain even pet stores sell them here for fish tanks ect

    I ran longer hoses today and some sponge with air filter oil in the airbox and had the bike up to just under the exhaust in water, pulled like a dream but my wheel bearings hate me
