125-200cc wr 125 close ratio gear box

I have a 2000 wr 125 but I prefer the gear box of a 2005 for example. My question is are the two gear box completely diferent? It´s hard($) to change?

I thought they were the same, but we did not get 2005 2 strokes in the US. I would jut put a smaller sprocket on the front, same result for cheap.

2002 was the first year WR125 got the CR gearbox. It made it easier to stay in the power with closer ratios. It takes more than gearing down, to make an old WR gearbox a new CR/WR one.

I will swap you a nearly new CR 6 speed that is what you are looking at for your 2000 WR 6 speed. It is sitting on my bench ready to go. I have been looking for the old true WR 6 speed just like yours so it is a win win for both of us. PM me and we can make it work.
