250-500cc WR 250/300 Rear Brake Lever Fix.

Probably the biggest thing I hate about my 250 is the rear brake lever.I have almost gone off many cliff because of it.You see the brake lever on the 250/300 has an s bend in it which puts it out of alignment with the foot peg.I started looking at pictures of the older TE four strokes that shared the same brake master cylinder, Then I called Bryon at Bill's and asked him if he could please look and see if a brake lever off an older TE would look like it would work.5 minutes later I bought part #800073894 for an 06 M.Y. TE. I put it on today and adjusted it and now the problem has been solved. It looks like it sticks out to far but thats only because there isn't a clutch cover taken up all the space.I put a brake snake on and an after market brake tip from flea bay.Will post some pics soon. Hope this helps somebody with the same problem.

nice work tim, is it any longer than stock(peg to tip)? on another note did you ever hear back about oversize tanks from clockwork or whoever it was? sucks we cant get a decent 11-12L tank for these things.

The TE lever looks the same length I never measured it. I like this lever better for the fact that it is straight and aligns perfectly with the foot peg. I dont think the guy's at clock work are going to make the tank. They said they would need to make a run of 150 to break even, looks like we are stuck with the IMS if we want a long distance tank.

Had the same problem when i got my wr 300 !!! down a steep single track hill ,and couldn't find the rear brake, all i did was put the rear brake lever in a press and flatted out the bend that puts it so close to the stator cover !!!

whats the deal with the cut off crankcase breather & carby overflow going up there mate?

NOW you need to change the rear rotor to the big one bolted direct to the hub

Halls and Zip ty have the new caliper braket with shark fin which then allows you to mount up the bigger rotor

Lectron carb power jet pick up on the bottom of the bowl,I need to get a longer breather hose.

What rotor did you use?

Use any rotor off the late model Husky like a 449/511 bolt it direct to the hub get the new caliper braket with the shark fin and hold on because the bike WILL STOP brakes will not over heat and now you are the same as the rest of the Husky line up of bikes Only the 250/300 have a little brake even the 125 has a big brake so why not the 250/300 Well now you can contact Halls or Zip Ty Racing

i put mine in a vise and bent it out. i had several "oh shit" moments beause it sits so far inside.

i looked on there websites but couldnt see them....got a link to them?

First of all thanks to AJAXAUTO for making this happen with zipty racing.
Got some photos of this mod first installed on my 02 cr250 and secondly the parts for
my 09 wr300. I would call halls and zipty directly for the brackets and I would be quick because I was told only 15 of these
were made up at this time. Halls probably has the correct rotor in stock also or could get fairly quickly.

Only 15 were made BUT once you guys find out how well your bike will work more will have to be made It really does work and it is a cheap fix

Got tired of the rattles so I called Halls and pulled the trigger on the rotor pads and caliper holder.
