Has anyone experimented with the power valve settings other than stock?

if so what changes in power delivery vs settings?

Are there different types of Governor springs you can get for the Wr250?

    Any help suggested!

    Thanx!

I'm pretty sure Wallybean said he's working on a kit right now that will be similar to the one he developed for the 125. Brad.

I have a spring kit done for the WR 250/300 with two lighter springs and one stiffer spring. Give Hall's a call and request a kit and they can get it to you.

PS, The WR 250 governor is constructed so that you can't add an inner spring. The result is that you will only be able to move the opening point and not adjust the progressiveness. Now lowering the opening point will give you a more mellow hit but it will be abrupt just like it is stock.

Wallybean, have you thought of using progressively wound springs?

    Bill,

Yes, I would love to be able to afford the expense of having a progressive spring made to specs. The prices I have been quoted for this type of spring that matches our needs is costly. Not in the price per unit but in the number of units you have to order to get it made. There isn't an off the shelf spring that matches our needs.(not even close) Minimum orders and still get a reasonably priced spring is in the hundreds and I am not willing to put that much money out there on something that won't sell even a hundred. :banghead:
