250-500cc WR 360 Connecting rod - Where can i find it

    Hello everyone , i bough WR 360 year 2001 or 2002 (at least thats what the last owner said) i stripped the whole engine and though its gonna be just bearings but the bearings made a mess to the connecting rod too.... i searched the interned and found just one , and its for 340 € ??? its the most expensive ive seen yet , does anyone know where could i buy it for normal price ?

    Theyre not cheap!
    Pistons are not cheap!
    Bearings are not cheap!

    Try pro x they do one for 360 please post up any findings of quality inexpencive items, could start a bargin hunt thread.
    When the bikes running right its awesome but if jettings off pv's off or its slightly cloudy they can be a real pita.

    yes , i know that already .D which i didnt expect when i bought this bike.... which is not cool for me , still in the school and iam not from that kind of family where father buys you everything soo you can ride .D wanted to stay with two strokes.... now got this .D
    yes , the pro x have almost for everything. i found one for KTM 360 just for 100 € , but it is long 132 and huskys have 134 , wont that mess up compression ? and the bearing is also 20 wide , and on husky its 22 its for year 96 exc/sx 360
    though also about drilling 1mm bigger hole into the connecting rod , and then buy the bearings. would be much cheaper since the bearings are messed up and the down hole of a connection rod.
    What do you think ? dont wanna spend that much money for original huskys connection rod.

    And when i have the time and the bike is dissamble , i would go to solve the another problem , gonna check that jetting as you say . is there somewhere set up ? or could you send me one please ? iam not an professional at it , guess ill have to look at some youtube videos too .DD

    the 360 is a great motor when set up. awesome bottom and mid with great torque but also with an absolutely ripping top end. i was quite surprised (and pleased) when the tuning on mine began to come together. its almost like it has a split personality. i think this is what can cause some tuning difficulties, as the previous owner of my bike simply adjusted the power valve so it was always shut and lugged it around i guess. imho, there is not a year of husqvarna made to please someone on a budget or someone who wants to easily find parts. very rewarding to have one set up right and enjoy it. yz250s and the like are great bikes that can be had cheaply and parts are plentiful and dirt cheap compared to a euro bike. you will have to decide what will work best for you.
    perhaps ebay would help get you a replacement crank or rod.
    p.s. i have had multiple husqvarna since i was a senior in high school, and my family did not buy me everything i needed to ride. i usually tend to like european or less common things so i guess im used to hunting for things. on the bright side a healthy rod will last a very very long time especially in a big bore if its jetted half decent and fed clean air. a rod can last for several pistons and a piston can last for over 200 hours, so a few hundred for a rod isnt that bad. there are those that believe an oem husky rod (swedish or italian) is much better quality than an aftermarket kit, and i would not be surprised about that in the least if it were true

    Hay Euro1215 forget you found that 2mm shorter rod if you install that without cutting piston skirts down you will grenade the motor and be worse off.
    2mm smaller bearing width is also a bad idea these have stump pulling torque an need what the oem designed it to have or more, not less ;)
    Port timing will be way out compression will be very poor and by the time youve corrected these you will be in far more than the oem rod.

    Still what are you after a fast ride? These are good motors and will keep up with mx bikes off road and cars on road.
    Cheap? Umm wrong tree to bark up here try kawasaki
    How much was the bike? You will find if you sell it for parts you could buy a complete bike out of profits.
    Also pics if damage would be helpful.

    P.s. I could never afford a bike when i was young and daddy as you say didnt want me to have one anyway..... So your starting early on a big bore 2stroke fair play, can you get a weekend job in a garage or bike shop ?

    NOOOO if you do this and run it you would be lucky to warm her up. The con rod is hard as hell anyway an will be a pain to drill, then you have to get the bearing surface hardend and coated then machine ground perfectly smooth. Wich would again cost more than the correct rod.

    What if I whittle a rod out of a hickory stick and use rawhide for a bearing and pack it with possum fat? :lol:

    Possum fat and leather would work but hickory.. Maybe a little soft perhaps ash with a laminate of hickory to transfer the whip to rear wheel better.

    Cant find measurments for their rods on page 366 just what models they stock, no 360 either ktm 1997-or husky1992-2002

    Shouldnt need the conrod for a six speed swap.
    Yes the rods are the same run throughout 360 run.
