Hi i remember reading a thread on the idle gear of a wr 360 95 backing out and cracking the spider, my motors out and im wondering if i should strip it down to make sure its not happening to mine as i would like to avoid having to replace engine if it is a common occurance.

my question is was this only common on earlyer 360's? or is it throughout the range.
ive searched but cant find the original thread on here.

Husky made a change in 1998 to strenghten the kickstart idle gear on the 360. It does however still use a small bearing so you might want to put a fresh bearing and retaining clip in to be sure. You can do this with the clutch side case removed, no need to split the cases unless you are replaceing a rod or main bearings.
