    ouch....i rode the bike that engine came out of,,granted, it was only up and down the street, but it did shift good...maybe something shook loose inside the cases during shipping ???who knows how many times that thing was tossed around from Co, to AK..
    id do some looking with the clutch cover off ect, before i dig into the cases...if it needs anything,,and i have it,,your welcome to it..i have a large box of extra Husky tranny parts,
    there is a rebound type spring on the shift shaft that comes loose easy..id check that first before i start tearing things down,
    short of new gaskets, id bet i have anything you need,,,just ask. your welcome to it.
    do i still need to send you a large shaft flywheel???

    thanks chuck, yea, still need that flywheel, strange deal huh? it would shift up to 4th when it got here, then after i did the comp. test must of bent or broke somthing! even with a wrench on the shift shaft she won't shift up. clutch looks good! no grooves on basket, plates look good so no problem there, dang it!

    wonder if something came loose during the trip up north,
    id wait and get it running, maybe run ATF on the first run, and drain it afterwords..might be a chuck a dirt or dried crud from sitting, that engine doesnt have much run time...but you never know...like i said, anything it needs, if i have it,,its yours.
    i have a big box of gears, bearings, shiffer forks, springs ect...might be the shifter detent itself, if you look a take down of that tranny, its a 6 tooth looking half gear,..{redneck}
    i dumped a 79 250 off a long hill, end over end once, and that detent came loose..
    was a bear to get it figured out, but once we found it, it clicked back into place, and the bike shifted fine..id almost bet thats what happened...some monkey at the postoffice tossed the box accross the floor, and knocked something loose.
    your flywheel will be on the way..
    looked at the parts list posted by Husky T,,its the racthet wheel {47} and prawl {72?} on the list.. look on the 1980 parts list.

GOOD NEWS, cylinder looks good, good piston, and the ports have all been cleaned up!! now that she apart, any thoughts or advice before assembly!?

    hey northern, motor was shipped parcel poser (post), take's a little longer but it's the best deal,money wise anyway! i just need to remember the motor's 30 year's old! thing's like this could happen regardless.

    after we both looked at the broken bits,,looks like it has had an issue since before i got it..
    likely the one time i rode the bike down the street loosened up a couple bits..
    im on the search for the to gears he needs, and will be happy to buy them and send em to him for free,...even though its an old engine, im happy to make it right..had i known, i would have sent another engine...
