250-500cc WR voltage regulator needed?

    From what I can tell, there's really no need to have the voltage reg. on my WR300 if I'm not running lights.[IMG] So, I'm thinking about just removing it and putting it in the box with the light kit.

    I'm just looking for opinions on the matter or someone who knows other wise. I really don't want to cook an ignition. [IMG]

    I do not run one on my WR 250 just left the lead wine there not hooked up to anything
    and the regulator is some where on the work bench
