I was riding with some friends recently on my '09 WR125. I have always had the stock plastic skid plate and after drilling a drain hole for the gearbox in it, have been satisfied that it was good enough. However, this time I came up on a hole in the ground with a stump protruding on the other side. I managed to get my front wheel over but when my rear wheel went in the hole it stopped me short. Stuffed my sack in the tank so hard that I had to step off and recover. The bike just stayed there without being held up it was so stuck. When cleaning the bike later, I discovered the damage. Now, I'm shopping for a better skid plate. Wondering how I would like the Uptite version with the swiss cheese look. Seems like stuff would wash out easier. Any comments?
