    Hi All,

Was out racing yesterday and while loading up the bike I noticed the smell of petrol (gas if you're the other side of the pond :) ) wasn't going away. I traced it dripping from the fuel tap (can't think of it's proper name) and just wondered if anyone else has had this. I didn't crash or drop the bike at any point so no idea why it has started now (Correct, I wasn't trying hard enough if I didn't crash!). Here is a pic of me cresting a nice steep hill.. wasn't sure what was the other side so took it easy!

cap gasket is probably the culprit, mine leaks and I need to get one too, albeit a different model

If its like the type in this pic its most likely to be full of mud/grime.
I had one that leaked pretty bad and when taking it apart I was surprised at how much muck had worked its way in there, cleaned it all out and its been good ever since.
Remove the two little screws that hold the small plate and pull the tap out, Do not do this with the tank full of fuel lol

had to buy a couple of those in the past as they were not responsive to a good cleaning
still have them, just did not like to be cleaned and resealed for whatever reason

Thanks guys that is great. Once I've cleaned her up from Sunday's race I'll take the peacock off and inspect.. good tip about making sure the tank is empty first
