I've got a 2008 and it's by far the best bike I've ever owned and I've had a ton. The motor may be called 'old technology' but is bullet proof. The bike turns on a dime and if you do a little suspension work, it's better than most new bikes. The only draw back is that you don't get the 'magic button' starter...

the 13 is the same as old ones, except for kyb forks and Ducati ignition. I have a 12 wr 300 which is the same as the 250,just a bigger piston.I love the bike. Its been the best bike I have owned once I got the carb and suspension worked out.
