250-500cc Wr360 advice

Gday just bought my first bike in 15years well 2 I just bought a99 360 and a2002 360 my question is its plated 12 2001 but the bloke reckons all 2002in Australia are dated 2001 does anyone in Australia have a 2002 dated 2002 or know if this is right.thanks

Yes a 2002 would have a manufacture date in 2001 since new models come out in the fall.

Rancher1 is correct mate, majority of bikes made from Nov-Dec are often plated the next year, same applies to obsoleted models - utterly confusing and often wonder why the dirtbike industry did away with model numbering and just had years.

Automobiles are also likely made the same way with new model releases coming in the fall as well.
