All 2st WR360 piston design vs. WB165 custom piston

    As I just bought a 2012 CR125, I've been reading all I can about the machine on CH! In a thread there is info on the custom piston design WB came up with for his upgrade kit. Got me to look into my old parts stash and compare pistons. Very interesting differences.

    Can someone explain the purpose of the spaced smaller holes in the piston skirts of this WR360 piston? Just for lubricity, or a performance effect?
