• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am after some info on a 05 TE 450, I am looking at getting back into dirt bikes after along break and have a mate who has a 05 TE 450 for sale. he is the original owner and the bike has been regulary serviced and is in excellent condition for an 8 yr old bike. it has only done less than 5000kms and recently had a valve adjustment. my question is are their any known problems with this model bike ?

My 05 has been very dependable.
A couple of things:
The 50mm forks weren't used on the TEs till 06 and are considered to be better than the 45s used in 05.
The 06 TEs were the first to be 50 state plateable.

change of plans just bought a 09 te450 with 1600ks , bike is imacualate. just been reading about all the electrical/fuel pump dramas maybe I should have bought the 05 model ?

No the 05 is a tad old. Much improved in 06 and again in 08. 09 is a refinement of the 08 and it is a very reliable bike.

09 much better machine choice, the new semi perimeter chassis alone is worth the price of admission.
I went from 04TC450 to 06TE450 to 08TXC450 in 450s the 2008 (your 09 is the same but with even more updates) was many bars above the others with improvements.

well change in plans again, I went to pick up the 09 model and did a history check on it and it turns out that the bike has finance owing on it !! back to looking for a bike again, shame as the 09 was like brand new and the price was right.
