• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

07 vs 08 TE610

Hey guys, still looking around for a bike. there are two near me. an 07 & an 08 TE 610. I know the specs. FI vs carb being the big difference. Anything else I should know about the two bikes that would sway you to get one over the other. they are within a few hundred of each other and mileage & condition are similar. Hoping to tap into your vast knowledge.

thanks again for all your help. Hope to join the ranks of Husky owners some day soon.

The FI is nice but there are more big tank options for the 07. The 07 also came with compression adjustment for the forks. I have one of each and I like the 07 more.
My butt dyno tells me it is faster too!

As far as I know the 08 gained the EFI, lost the bottom compression edjusters, got fat bars and the front forks changed color from gold to black
To add the comp edjusters would take $100 if you DIY
There's one dedicated large tank for the EFI 610 or you can get the external EFI pump from Uptite and fit any tank you want

Based on your description, with mileage and condition being similar, I'd spend an extra few hundred on the 08. A one year newer model equipped with EFI is well worth the extra money. Resale value with the 08 will be better as well.
