  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got a 08 te510 and really love it awesome power but for my riding areas is bit heavy handles ok.Can get a 2011 tc449 for cheap (for Australia anyway) will I feel any less power difference or similar power I'm sure it will handle better and be bit lighter??

Hi Jonny,
i had a TE510 2008 . I have done suspension setup front and rear to get a better handling out of it. I compared my bike with a friends KTM530 2010. I did ride the 530 for 2 days and liked it. So i thought i should get the same result from this Husky as i got from a KATO .. spend 850 bucks for set up and still was sucks.

So i was looking for a Bike with similar handling and price range.
I rode a te449 for one hr which finally sold me.
I bought the TE511 , got the Set up done and love it ... done 4000km now on it in around 12months. Lately i changed my riding and focus more on knarly Single tracks .. i had to gear it down for that.
I regards of weight , yes it is a bit lighter and feels significant lighter on the front end.
Power delivery is awesome , i am happy and would not go back to a 510.
So you cant go wrong with the 449. Grouse bike and the BMW Engine takes quite some torturing...
