    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

08 TXC250 engine swap to 450

Is it possible to swap an 08 TXC250 engine out for a 08\09 TXC450 \ TC450 engine? I'm thinking I might wanna make a change to a 450 in the future but have limited ways of making this happen on a Husky ...
 
Why not just put a 310 kit on it? Makes it a whole different bike & offers a good compromise between 250 handling and 450 power.
Swapping to a 450 should be easy enough, but I'm not sure off the top of my head if you'll need to swap airboxes & exhausts......
 
Yep, I'll probably do the 310 kit down the road also ...I'm thinking long term here and a 450 would be very good for the racing going on here ...

The exhaust might be the biggest issue ... I'm gonna look up the parts number on this item ... air box may not be too big an issue ... The carb might need replacing also ...
 
I had asked before if a 450 exhaust would fit on a 250 and was told they would not fit. Are you thinking of just replacing the cylinder & head or doing the whole engine? That is pretty major stuff not sure you wouldn't be better off just getting a whole new bike.
 
Entire engine is what I'd be interested in replacing ... I can not import another bike here so another bike is pretty much out of the question ...

The part numbers on the exhaust are pretty close but the CARB are different sizes between the 2 bikes ...
