  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 TXC450 first ride report****************************************! with videos

A Class
Allright guys, I had the chance to take the bike out on the trail for the first time, WOW!!! this thing is what everybody says it is and then some****************************************:notworthy::notworthy:.
I went to this park called Carolina adventure world, very nice place, with good trail system. Here's what I liked about the bike:
*It feels light, flickable
*very stable, it goes where you point, easy to change lines going from rut to rut, ergo worked very well for my stature.
*TRACTION!! lots of it, they had 4inches of rain at the park prior to me going there, it was very slippery to say the least, but I was able to go fast, corner fast without washing out or sliding.
*Smooth, this bike is very powerfull, but it's very smooth making easy to handle in thight trails,
*suspension is just perfect to me, I like the front forks being on the harder side, since this bike will be my racer, I'll trade a little plushness for stability. Here's the cons:

#stock graphics, They suck!!! the ones that didn't peel off are cracked!
#jetting was a little weird, I was flaming out every now and then going out of corners in 2nd gear, And when I cracked the trhottle open fast it stalled.

I think that the cons are little things that are easy to fix, nothing to worry about,
Here's my list of mods:

Motosportz steering damper:
WOW, besides being a work of art, it works like magic, I think that the stability that I felt had a lot to do with this, I didn't ride the bike without it so I guess I'll never be able to compare!!

I did most of the mods on Scotts summers list.
50t Rear sprocket by motosportz.
Sunline handguard
asv levers
Enough said****************************************! This machine ROCKS:applause::applause:

Get the JD jetting kit for this bike, makes it run perfect. Starts better, quicker throttle response, no pop-n-stall, adjustable for different elevations / temp. Well worth it.

Thanks man  You'll really notice it if you ever take it off.

- that single track looks like fun.

Very nice...it looks like you were just playing/toying with your friends! What helmet camera are you using? It looked like the Helmet Hero and judging by the video...the original version...not wide angle.
