  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Do your 09 WR125's have the spark arrestor stock? I was told the CR and WR had the same none sparky muffler. :excuseme:

Nope they don't...I am starting to think the replacement exhaust system will have a sparky though.

I bet it has to do with the EPA/US DOT. To be legally imported into the US as competition vehicles, the DOT gives the importer a list of criteria that the bike must meet and 1 of those criteria is no sparky. This is the reason why most of the new KTMs/Bergs/GasGas' do not come with sparkys either.

Because Cagiva was so small they took a few liberties with their paperwork. Now that BMWs name is on the paperwork, every i must be dotted and t crossed to the letter of the law.

Don't the WR250 and 300 still have sparkys?

I looked at my 300 tonight and the writing on the side makes no mention of a US-Approved spark arrestor.

I just got back from a marathon trip to South Jersey facilities of P3. Lindsey and Eric Pirie are great people with a very nice product.

The are going to start mocking up the skid plate with improved protection for the water pump and ignition cover. Waiting on the pipe guard until new pipe is availible, as we don't know how different it will be. I'll post about big tank on other thread.

The 125 airbox is the most open Husky one I've ever seen! It had been quite dry for a short spell and I was riding in a lot of dry leaves in the woods. I was suprised at all the little leaf crap in the airbox. I couldn't imagine the water in a really wet run. I took duct tape and tried to seal the front up as you could stick your fingers in the gap between the tank and top of airbox and practically touch the throttle cable. I may try to add some plastic or rubber strips in place of the duct tape. Does anyone have any pics of Scott Summers airbox mods?

No, but I did get a good look at it. You are talking about the bucket they used to cover the filter right?
