  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hello everybody, new to the forum i was just wondering if anyone knew where i could get the o2 plug kit so i can do it to my bike? also will this make my bike run hotter or colder? i just boiled my coolant the other day, so now im switching to evans powersports waterless. stupid traffic... ended up riding down in the brake down lane anyways... i wasnt gonna let it overheat lol.

thanks in advance!

The bikes were never designed to run properly with the Lambada sensor in. That simply a retrofit to allow them to be sold in regions with unrealistic emissions expectations.

Your bike will run cooler with a remap and closed loop fueling. I.e. exhaust sensor blanking plug.

My advice would be to make sure if you blank off the lambada sensor that you do the full power up. It will then run cooler regardless of your coolant type.

And much better performance. I agree with reducing the carbon foorprint, but dont f**k up a high performance dirt bike by strangling a nice husky with emissions junk mr BMW. thats an old argument now though.

This is a good write-up on how to do it. I have some 2.2k ohm resistors if you don't have a Radio Shack nearby I can mail you one. The O2 sensor hole plug can be found at any auto parts store. Is the cat converter removable on your bike?

Will I need the resistor if I get a plug, lambada plug and fuel programmer?

funny thing, the airbox in my bike is already the unrestrictive one, and the guy i bought my bike from said that the dealer did the "power up kit". but he didnt actually know what it was... i still have the o2 and my bike is still in sel1 when i start it so im not sure if they half assed it or if the dealer isnt supposed to do the full thing.. and as far as my cat, i have to open my exhaust to see if its in there.
