• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

12port and ecu up grade ?

Well I just ordered a 12 port injector and ECU today. Pricy but i hear it helps in power, MPG and the throttle responce at low speeds. I ride a 2012 TE 310. How many of you have done this and what can i look forward to. I hope not just a lighter wallet.
cheers:cheers:

Even with stock exhaust? Have been thinking about it but thought you needed Akropovic muffler! Have the JD tuner fitted which made a big difference will that still work ok with new injector & ECU?

You won't need the JD tuner. Admittedly I have only run the ECU and injector with the full Ti Leo Vince exhaust.

It makes the TE310 what it should be. You will get better throttle response and more grunt down low, and a decent throttle hit in the mid-range. Can't tell you about what happens at the other end of the curve, as I have not been there yet. Might as well order an aluminum fuel elbow and install it while you have the tank off. Also, get a small can of Kroil and soak the fuel rail screws for about an hour before you try to remove them. They can be a bit sticky otherwise, and the screw heads are soft and easy to bugger. Replace them with some hex head cap screws. Do you have access to iBeat to reset the TPS?

Tore it down time for the new ECU and 12 port, New FMF pipe and headder, Shock work, fork work, Graphics, fix the spun nut in the gas tank, hand guards, rear turn signals and licence plate fix. Add a zipTy brass fuel elbow to the tank. clean all the little stuff up, Oh i added the radiator braces and fixed my bent radiators.
Getting it ready for the Bar 10 ranch ride in 3 weeks. :applause:

Mike. I like it. No being pushed forward when I chop the throttle, Like how it freewheels when you roll off and with just a blip of the gas it engine brakes like normal. It helped in the slow stuff where the old injector gave the bike a bad low speed feel in tight rocky areas with its on off and flame out stalling syndrome. Now its manageable. 4 day ride in 3 weeks from now Cant wait to see and feel the changes.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you do the install yourself? If so, what is involved? Also, what oil are you using? Thanks.

Yes i did the install, I admit i had to call them to walk me through some of it (7:00 at night) because i had a event the next morning and didn't want a DNF. The parts are not what your used to. I will say this, The tec there was out the door and stayed late to help me, He went way beyond what he had to do. 10+ help from Rekluse.
I run synthetic AmsOil because i get it free. Not sponsored just I trade work with a rep.

Ibeat to reset TPS ? Man you got me there, What is it and do i need to do it? I better ask my local dealer about that on Tuesday.

After replacing the ECU you might need to reset the throttle position sensor (TPS). iBeat is the Mikuni fuel injection software that allows you to do that, as well as adjust the mixture at idle, midrange, and wide open throttle. The dealer should be able to do that for you, or you can purchase the software and cable from Semco Designs. They are a Cafe Husky sponsor.

Doest the 12 hole injector work on the older 310 motors -2010 what is the apparent /real difference

I am thinking about getting injector & ecu, I did not want to go to full extent of muffler also. I have stock muffler with jd tuner will the new injector & ecu work ok with these? will the JD tuner be needed after install? Was only going to get injector at first I thought the ecu would not be needed because the jd changed the map by by-passing ecu.. Grant
