• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I've tried JT 15T and I like it, but not so much for my commute to work. I'd like to go in the other direction and try a 17T. My search for 'JTF402-17' is not coming up with anything solid. Does JT not offer a 17 tooth? I see another option from Wunderlich (sp) for $45, but I like the price of JT better.

Yes they do make one but you have to have a shop special order it from Tucker Rocky or Parts Unlimited.
I have not found a way for a regular guy to order one here in the US.

Was wondering if you or anyone else had actually fitted the 17t and you were happy with the way the bike performed? I know most people seem to go the other way but I have been thinking about running taller gearing as my riding of late has been long highway days on backroads keeping up with bigger sports bikes. Feel like I'm killing my bike with it sitting at 6k+rpm for extended periods.

I picked up my 17T sprockets because I have both 18/21 & 17/19 wheel sets.
The 17T when used with the 17 in rear wheel nets almost the same gearing as the stock 16T does with the 18 in rear.

I have yet to try the 17T with the 18 in rear.
The stock Terra set up seems tall enough geared for me.
However the stock Strada set up can feel a bit under geared when I need to run long distance at speed.

My 17T arrived the other day - my intention being to fit it when fitting the Rekluse clutch
I find 1st gear too low, a higher 5th would give 4,200rpm cruising speed, 3rd would be more useful on dirt roads, 4th below 90kph etc
