• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1975 rear fender on 1981 Husky

Have to replace rear fender but never liked the OE look. Still want the Husky look so looked at other models. The 1975 fender got what I want, not as chunky as the 1981 but big enough for tail light and plate.

But realize that it is a full fender while the one I've got stop under the seat. Easy fix just cutting it or won't it fit well?

This is just the look I want. But not sure it will Interface the seat that well?

Thanks Ruwfo, but want to have the vintage Husky look. Goal is that poeple will think it's the original fender :)

You could try the Dick Burlson replica look, its a 76/79 fender with a Preston petty lens

I need a rear fender for a 1979 390WR as pictured in Visiteur1948's post. Where do I get that with the original looking light?

Oops, sorry, must check my threads better:o

Ended up cutting 3 inches off the OE fender (before in bottom pic) . Actually think it turned out pretty good, bike looks 30kg lighter! Not sure how happy I will be next time riding in the wet with mud all over my back :D

Next is getting the OE gold wheels back on and get some oval number plates. The ones that was on is '83 but got the originals as well. But like plain oval ones better, looks more vintage. Also want round head light instead of the square got now and a correct front fender, the one on now is just something had laying around.

So won't be original but it wasn't that in the first Place so don't feel any obligation to do that. Just trying to get a look I like without spending too much Money.

I cut a universal enduro/taillight Acerbis fender for my '81 WR. Didn't contour right to meet up with the inner fender, so cut it about 3-4" back and used a sheet of 1/8" rubber to cut a transition piece to fill the gap and close out the mud. Connected with some mini-zips. Worked well and not visible.
